The proposed IFC’s financing consists of a senior secured loan of up to US$50 million or its equivalent in Euros (the IFC Loan) to Umai Group LLC (Umai, the Company or the Borrower), the largest retailer in the Kyrgyz Republic and LogoPark LLC, a newly established company (LogoPark or the Co-Borrower, and together, the Companies or Co-Borrowers). The IFC Loan will fund the Companies’ US$68 million investment program for 2026–2028, including US$33 million for the construction of 29,000m2 A-class distribution center by LogoPark near Bishkek and US$35 million for Umai’s capital expenditures to open new stores and redesign existing formats across the Kyrgyz Republic, an IDA country (the Project).
IFC is considering supporting Umai in developing and implementing comprehensive decarbonization strategy and LogoPark in evaluating the feasibility of achieving EDGE certification for the new distribution center. Also, IFC is in discussions to provide corporate governance (CG) advisory services, including CG diagnostic review, recommendations for improving CG practices, etc.
