The expansion would allow it to meet increasing demand, lower production costs, broaden its line of products and develop its distribution network.Environmental Category and Issues This proposed project is classified as a category B project according to IFC’s environmental review procedure. Environmental issues which were examined included air emissions and liquid effluents, solid waste management, and general worker health and safety. The facility produces only minor air and water emissions. Solid wastes are primarily rubber shavings from the processed tires, which are recycled as an additive in asphalt for road paving or as low grade rubber, or are landfilled.
