Project Description
Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S.A. (CNO or the “Company”) is Latin America’s leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company. Founded in 1945 in the northeastern region of Brazil, CNO provides a variety of engineering, procurement and construction services in over 15 countries around the world. Through its subsidiaries, CNO engages in the construction of large scale infrastructure projects, such as highways, railways, power plants, bridges, buildings, subways, dams, as well as mining facilities and manufacturing plants, among others. CNO is fully owned by Odebrecht S.A. (ODB or the Sponsor), one of the largest private sector groups in Brazil.
CNO approached IFC seeking support to structure a Partial Credit Guarantee Facility (the “PCG Facility” or the “Facility”) that would increase the supply capacity of surety bonds available for the Company. These surety bonds will be used to guarantee CNO’s performance in EPC infrastructure development contracts in Brazil and other Latin American and African countries (the “Project”).
