The Fund is a 10-year closed end private equity fund with up to two years of extension period that will invest in clean and low-carbon energy infrastructure and growth stage clean technology companies in Latin America with a focus on Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Central America. Target sectors include: (i) renewable energy e.g. small hydro, wind, solar, geothermal and biomass; (ii) energy efficiency e.g. energy service companies, industrial cogeneration and demand-side management related service and products; (iii) transportation efficiency e.g. hybrid vehicles, fleet vehicle conversion, energy storage and biofuels; and (iv) climate and environment e.g. carbon finance and emission credit projects. The Fund target is US$150 million, and it can accept up to US$250 million in commitments.
