HiSoft Technology International Limited (HiSoft or DMK or the company) is one of the leading enterprise and software development outsourcing companies in the People’s Republic of China (China). The company is one of the few large Chinese software companies that services the Japan market due to its close geographical proximity and the large proportion of Japanese speakers in the city of Dalian. The company intends to diversify its major markets away from Japan and to increase market share in the US market. The company was founded in November 1996 and its shareholders include institutional names like China Hualu and Haida Shipping as well as management and the employees. In August 2004, the company announced a $20million equity financing package with Jafco Asia, Intel Capital and Granite Global. IFC is looking to contribute up to $4million in this financing. The funds raised from this round of financing will be deployed to grow the company’s market share in Japan as well as build the company’s presence in the US market.
