The project sponsors are the founders of the company - Ramesh Grover, V.K. Prasad and S. Ramadorai. CMS is a private company registered in India. The founders own substantially all outstanding shares of the company.

The total project cost is expected to be $47 million over two years. The proposed IFC investment is up to $22.5 million in a combination of debt and equity.

CMS has its headquarters in Mumbai and has a presence in more than 100 cities throughout India. Proceeds will be used to expand business activities and substantially increase the company’s presence throughout India.

The project will have strong development impact in the following areas: CMS is one of the few large Indian IT companies that focus on the Indian market. The company is playing a major role in providing necessary and fundamental services that are essential to the country’s continued growth, particularly in areas such as e-Government, field engineering, print solutions and cash management. CMS, which is headquartered in Mumbai, also contributes to the expansion of IT capacity beyond the traditional technology hubs of Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. IFC funding will be used to expand CMS presence in more than 100 additional cities throughout India. IFC would be the first institutional investor in CMS. IFC will play an important role in offering long-term financing previously unavailable to the company and promoting good corporate governance, timely and accurate financial reporting, prudent allocation of scarce resources, sound business strategy, and a focus on sound financial performance.

This is a Category C project according to IFC’s environmental and social review procedure. There are minimal environmental and social impacts associated with this project; therefore, no further environment and social review is necessary.
