Project Description

Banque Societe Generale Vostok (BSGV or the company) is a wholly-owned Russian subsidiary of the Societe Generale Group. BSGV started operations in 1993, and is a Russian bank licensed, regulated and supervised by the Central Bank of Russia. The project will support BSGV’s recently announced major expansion plan within Russia, and specifically the Bank’s retail operations, including mortgage finance and its new wholly-owned leasing subsidiary, BSGV-Leasing. Societe Generale is one of the first major global banking players to enter the Russian market and establish full-service banking operations. By supporting the Bank’s operations, IFC will help bring additional competition and best practices to the market, as well as better access to high standard banking services and products for Russian companies and individuals. In addition, BSGV’s commitment to Russia will send a positive signal to other major international financial institutions.
