Project Description
Wadi Holdings Company (SAE) (Wadi or the company) and its ten subsidiaries comprise a group of Egyptian companies which, at present, has two core business activities. The first of these consists of poultry and, in particular, the production of broiler day old parents, commercial broilers, layer chicks, hatching eggs and poultry feed. The second core activity is the planting, cultivating, harvesting and processing of olives and other vegetables and fruits. Having started operations in 1984, Wadi is now implementing a four-year expansion and diversification investment program, which will lead Wadi from a mid-tier company to one of Egypt’s and the region’s premier agribusiness groups.
The investment program in implementation includes:
- a modern 60 MT per hour feed mill (completed in October 2004),
- a grandparent hatchery and breeder sites,
- olive groves, vegetable farms and processing facilities,
- contract farming with independent out-growers to raise broiler chickens, and
- a joint-venture with local and foreign partners to manufacture glass containers to be used by Wadi and other glass packaging companies in Egypt and abroad.
