Project Description
In the end of 2001, Agro-Industrial Complex Agros (Agros, or the sponsor) acquired several poultry farms and processing plants located in the Stavropol region. The acquired facilities needed significant rehabilitation and upgrade to improve production efficiencies. In 2002, Agros began integrating the operations into a single well-coordinated poultry company, Stavropolsky Broiler (the company).
The project will introduce modern poultry technology throughout the poultry production chain and optimize capacities to expand the company’s poultry meat production to 40,000 tpa. The project consists of:
repairs and upgrade of the company’s breeding and broiler farms;
construction of a new hatchery;
rehabilitation of processing plants and feedmill;
expansion of distribution; and
investment in working capital.
The project aims to capitalize on the significant opportunities afforded by the poultry industry in Russia, the region’s mild climate favorable to chicken raising and abundant supply of cheap grain.
