Project Description

Allain Duhangan Power Company Limited (ADPCL or the project) will be jointly owned by Rajasthan Spinning & Weaving Mills Limited (RSWM), HEG Limited (HEG) and Malana Power Company Limited (MPCL), collectively, the sponsors. The sponsors are part of the LNJ Bhilwara group of companies.

The project is to build, own and operate a 192MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric power plant (HPP) in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh (Northern India). ADPCL will operate as a base-load plant during the summer and rainy seasons, and as a peaking plant in the winter and non-monsoon months. The project will help meet peak and energy shortages by supplying competitively priced power to the Northern Region of India. ADPCL’s Detailed Project Report received Techno-Economic Clearance on August 20, 2002 from the Central Electricity Authority at an estimated completed cost of $192 million.
