The proposed investment consists of a COP80,000 million own account investment (approximately $22.0 million equivalent) to the first privately placed listed social securitization in Colombia, which will be originated by Kredit Plus S.A.S. (Kredit or the Company). The securitization will have a tenor of ten years and will be issued by a special purpose vehicle (the Issuing Trust). The investment proceeds will be used to support the silver by providing loans to pensioners, 55% of which will be granted to women, in Colombia usually more credit constrained than men (a 6.9pp gap), as previously stated The total transaction size is expected to be COP160,000 million (approximately USD 44.0 million equivalent), comprising IFC’s COP 80,000 million investment, mobilization of up to COP 67,200 million from private investors, and a COP 12,800 million equity tranche to be held by Kredit.
IFC will provide advisory services to strengthen Kredit’s institutional capacity in sustainable finance. The advisory program will include the development and technical support to Kredit in designing a comprehensive sustainability strategy. Advisory elements include development of a sustainability framework consistent with ICMA Social Bond Principles; assistance in establishing data management systems to isolate gender- and age-disaggregated indicators; capacity building on ESG risk management and governance of securitization vehicles; and support in implementing enhanced consumer protection and disclosure standards for pension loan borrowers. The advisory will also help the Company expand financial and non-financial offerings that are tailored for pensioners and launch a pilot program that offers digital and financial education services specifically designed for the silver segment and women pensioners.
