The Project is expected to result in improved access to quality healthcare services for privately-insured patients in Brazil, by expanding a digital platform that integrates patients with independent healthcare professionals to provide at-home healthcare services, thereby offering enhanced convenience of accessing medical care. The Company’s expansion plan involves onboarding additional independent healthcare professionals, specifically nurses, thereby enabling them to access part-time, flexible employment opportunities. The Company is scaling one of the leading, asset-light digital platforms in Brazil that provides at-home care for a large share of services typically provided by traditional healthcare organizations. A successful scale up is expected to induce such traditional providers to up their game, e.g., through the development of digital distribution channels (incl. via partnerships), as well as induce digital-first competitors to add more services to their offering. Ultimately, this is expected to trigger broader innovation and digitalization across the Brazilian healthcare market, and the expansion of the at-home care segment in Brazil.

IFC will provide the following financial and non-financial Additionality. IFC will lead the Series B investing round by providing a venture capital investment of US$15 million to support the Company’s expansion in Brazil. IFC will leverage its board seat to provide strategic guidance and support in shaping the company’s long-term growth plans. By connecting the company to its extensive network of insurance companies and HealthTech investments in Brazil and other regions, IFC will facilitate business development and enable valuable knowledge sharing as the company scales. IFC is also expected to provide the Company with the following support: (I) IFC has conducted a Rapid Quality Assessment to assess how the Company manages patients’ safety and quality of care standards. IFC will work with the Company to strengthen its quality management system, to align the Company’s processes to international standards. (II) IFC will improve the Company’s Environmental & Social (E&S) practices by: (a) implementing an E&S Action Plan aligned with IFC Performance Standards and World Bank Group Guidelines; (b) include prohibitions on sexual and workplace harassment, as well as child and forced labor in its procurement processes; (c) develop a Child Protection Policy for children accessing services via the Company's home program. (III) IFC will work with the Company to strengthen its corporate governance standards.(IV) IFC support from the gender team is under discussion with the Company.
