Project Description

IFC will provide a senior secured loan of up to US$33 million equivalent (the IFC Loan) to subsidiaries of Eurasia Group AG (EG AG, the Group), a Swiss-based group that distributes and services John Deere and other Western-made agricultural machinery in Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic. The IFC Loan will finance the construction of new service centers in Astana, Almaty, and Pavlodar in Kazakhstan, and in Bishkek in the Kyrgyz Republic (the Project). The IFC Loan will be committed as follows: (i) up to US$30 million equivalent to Eurasia Group Kazakhstan LLC (EG KZ), and (ii) up to US$3 million equivalent to Eurasia Group Kyrgyzstan LLC (EG KZ, together with EG KZ, the Companies).                                                   

Associated Advisory Engagement

IFC is considering the following upstream and advisory services:

(i) Farmer Education Program – The Group is interested in collaborating with IFC to assess the feasibility of expanding its farmer education program and establishing a university to equip farmers with modern machinery and farming skills.

(ii) Digital Education – IFC will explore opportunities to digitalize education programs in the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan.

(iii) Land Mapping and Agricultural Machinery Park – IFC offered to support the Group in evaluating the feasibility, scalability, and sustainability of e-mapping agricultural land and creating an agricultural machinery park in the Kyrgyz Republic to develop a locally relevant reference service model for farmers.
