Sponsor shareholder of the Project is Maple Leaf Cement Factory Ltd (MLCF), a listed cement manufacturer with production capacity of 7.8 million tons per annum, located in Pakistan. MLCF is part of Kohinoor Maple Leaf Group owned by Saigol family, an industrial family conglomerate with investments in textiles, cement, power, and financial services. 

The total estimated Project cost is up to US$110 million.

IFC is proposing to finance the Project with up to US$12 million common equity, US$4 million A-Loan and mobilization of US$50 million equivalent LCY loans.

The hospital will be built on a 6.5-acre land parcel, restricted for healthcare use, located in Phase V, DHA Islamabad, Pakistan.

The Project responds to the substantial gaps in the provision of healthcare services in Pakistan. The Sponsor will collaborate with strong technical partners and co-developers to ensure the hospital's design and management meet high standards. Once operational, it will offer high-quality, safe medical care for a range of specialties, thus responding to a substantial gap in the healthcare market in the country.

No governance risks to development impacts have been identified. The Company will undertake a corporate governance advisory program led by IFC and will implement a corporate governance action plan prepared by IFC Corporate Governance team. The corporate governance action plan is intended to enhance the Company’s governance ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective decision making.
