The Sponsors are two publicly listed entities: The Coca-Cola Company (“TCCC”), incorporated in the USA, and Coca-Cola Icecek A.S. (“CCI”), incorporated in Turkey. Both are the major shareholders of CCBPL, each owning 49.6% of its shares, with management control with CCI.

 The IFC investment consists of an up to US$50 million equivalent A Loan for IFC’s own account.

 CCBPL is headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan, with 7 manufacturing facilities located at Karachi, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

  This is a Category B project according to IFC's Policy on Environment and Social Sustainability (2012). Based on information reviewed by IFC, the proposed project will have limited adverse E&S impacts that are few, site specific, largely reversible, and readily addressed through existing mitigation measures and good international industry practices (GIIP).

As mentioned above, IFC use of proceed for this 3rd investment will finance CCBPL working capital requirements and maintenance capex of around US$8-10 million in FY23. IFC proceeds will not be used for any new expansions. CCBPL assets in Pakistan entail 7 different bottling facilities across the country.  The ESAP for project #37922 has been completed, while the ESAP for RSE project #46251 (committed in December 2022) is still in progress. The key E&S risks associated with CCBPL’s facilities include: sustainability of the water resources for its operations, including water usage and efficiency, sourcing of raw material for its operations, solid waste management (plastic), and occupational health and safety . Energy management and climate protection are priority areas in CCI's sustainability strategy which is adopted by CCBPL. Targets for implementing mitigation measures are set for energy use reduction, GHG emissions, and low-carbon technology alternatives.
