Origo’s anchor investor is Augment Infrastructure, a US-based investment fund focused on renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, along with TPG ART, Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital, Mov Investimentos and Mitsui & Co.

The proposed investment entails a BRL-denominated financing package equivalent to c.US$42 million consisting of (i) a c.US$25 million senior A loan and (ii) a c.US$17 million subordinated concessional tranche from the Clean Technology Fund.

The portfolio under consideration by IFC includes solar DG projects for a total capacity of 50MWac spread across five states (Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Pernambuco, and Tocantins) of Brazil.

The Company’s governing structure is deemed conducive to delivering the expected development impacts.

This is a Category B project according to IFC’s Policy on Environmental and Social Sustainability. The environmental and social risks and impacts associated with this Project are limited, site-specific and can be readily addressed through generally accepted mitigation measures as described in this document and the attached Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP).

The key E&S issues associated with this Project include: adequacy of the Company’s Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), including relevant risk management policies and procedures that cover direct workers, key contractors and sub-contractors; capacity to effectively identify and manage E&S risks associated with its operations; labor management and provision for fair and safe working conditions for employees, contractor and supply chain and to address risks related to grievance management; OHS especially electric works; waste recycling management of PVC solar panels and batteries; natural habitat conversion and stakeholder engagement.
