Project Description

The proposed project consists of a trade finance facility of up to US$5 million for Credit Communautaire d’Afrique Bank (“CCA-Bank” or the “Bank”) with a maturity of up to 6 months. The investment falls under the IFC’s Global Trade Finance Program (“GTFP”) and is booked under the African Trade and Supply Chain Finance Recovery Initiative (“ATRI”) umbrella (the “Project”). The investment will support CCA-Bank’s international trade business and enhance acceptability by correspondent banks (“CBs”) of Letter of Credits, Guarantees and other trade instruments issued by CCA-Bank, the ninth largest bank in Cameroon in terms of net loans, in favor of its CBs. CCA-Bank was the largest microfinance institution (“MFI”) in Cameroon up until May 2018 when it obtained a banking license and that is currently the eighth largest bank in Cameroon in terms of net loans.

Associated Advisory Engagement

The Project will be complemented by IFC’s advisory services aimed at supporting CCA-Bank to develop and strengthen its trade finance operations and to redesign its trade solutions.
