Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd (“Fosun Pharma”) is the Sponsor for the Project, which is a 100% shareholder of Tridem and a 96% shareholder of Guilin Pharma. Fosun Pharma is 35.83 percent indirectly owned by Fosun International Limited, with the remaining 64.17 percent held by public shareholders. Mr. Guangchang GUO is the ultimate controlling shareholder of Fosun Pharma with an indirect interest of 22.3 percent.

The Project cost is expected to be up to EUR90 million, which will be primarily funded by the IFC A loans and the remaining from internally generated cash and equity injection from the Sponsor. The proposed investment consists of two A loans totalling up to EUR50 million to the local subsidiaries of Tridem and Guilin Pharma.

The Project will be implemented in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

This is a Category B project according to IFC’s Policy on Environment and Social Sustainability (2012). Key E&S issue and risks associated with the project include: (i) the adequacy of the Borrowers’ E&S management system and organization; (ii) alignment of labor and working conditions at Borrower facilities and operations with host country and IFC’s PS2 requirements; (iii) occupational health and safety (OHS) during the construction and operational phases of the Project; (iv) waste management including hazardous wastes and materials; (v) emergency preparedness and response including life and fire safety (L&FS) and (vi) stakeholder engagement and grievance redress mechanisms.
