The Company is 100%-owned by Release Management B.V. (Netherlands), which is as of today100%-owned by the parent company Scatec ASA (Norway).

Scatec is a leading global renewable energy developer specializing in the development, construction, ownership, and operation of solar, wind, and hydro power plants, as well as battery storage solutions. Scatec currently has more than 4.6 GW in operation and under construction across four continents. Scatec’s largest shareholders are Equinor ASA (16%), , Folketrygdfondet (9%) and Scatec Innovation (9%).                                                 

  Project costs are estimated at US$ 200 million. The proposed IFC investment includes an IFC A Loan of up to US$ 50 million and IFC Blended Finance Subordinated Loan of up to US$ 50 million.

In addition, the Project will benefit from an IDA-Private Sector Window (PSW) Liquidity Support Guarantee (LSG) of up to US$ 65 million.  

   Release currently has three assets in various stages of completion, ranging from near completion in Cameroon to pre-preparatory works in Chad.

1. Cameroon - two 15 MW PV and storage stations in Guider and Maroua, Northern Cameroon.

2. Chad - a 30 MW PV and storage station southeast of N'Djamena, Chad

 The proposed investment is classified as a Category B project according to the IFC's Policy on Environment and Social Sustainability (2012). Based on the information assessed by the IFC, the project is expected to have limited adverse environmental and social (E&S) impacts that are few in number, site-specific, largely reversible, and can be effectively addressed through the implementation of existing mitigation measures and adherence to good international industry practices (GIIP).

Key E&S risks and impacts during the installation of solar equipment include potential impacts from dust and noise emissions affecting sensitive receptors along access roads, water usage, hazardous materials management, occupational health and safety (OHS) incidents, labor-related risks, an influx of people seeking work opportunities, supply chain management, and community health and safety risks such as HIV transmission and gender-based violence.
