Eastcastle Infrastructure DRC is 100% owned by Eastcastle Infrastructure Limited (incorporated in Jersey) which in turn is 100% owned by Eastcastle Holdings Limited (incorporated in Jersey).

Eastcastle Holdings Limited is owned (i) 35% by Africa Infrastructure Investments Manager (ii) 35% by Adenia Partners (iii) 20% by the IFC and (iv) 10% by the company’s founders Peter Lewis (Group Chief Financial Officer) and Pankaj Kulshreshtha (Group Chief Operations Officer).               

The total project cost is estimated at US$208 million to be financed with a combination of debt and equity. The proposed IFC investment is a senior loan up to US$30 million, US$30 million of syndicated funds and US$20 million from a parallel lender.                                                   

The Company is headquartered in DRC.                                                  

This is a Category B project according to IFC's Policy on Environment and Social Sustainability (2012) considering that the proposed project will have limited adverse E&S impacts that are few, site-specific, largely reversible, and readily addressed through existing mitigation measures and good international industry practices (GIIP).

Key E&S issues and risks associated with the project include:

-          continued implementation and adaptation of the existing ESMS to adequately assess and manage risks and impacts associated with the DRC-based operations;

-          adequate E&S resourcing at both a Group and OpCo level;

-          risks and impacts associated with the acquisition of brownfield tower sites;

-          consistent management of labor and working conditions in line with national legislation and implementation of existing occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and practices;

-          impacts on nearby community health and safety; and
