The Project Sponsors are Fraport and TAV Airports, with 49% and 51% ownership of the Company, respectively, and a joint management control structure. Fraport is a leading international airport operator with about 19,000 employees and 24 airports under management and provides services to 30 airports globally. Fraport also provides services such as traffic and terminal management, ground handling, security, and real estate and facility management at various airports around the world. Fraport is publicly listed in the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Established in 1997, TAV Airports is a leading international airport operator with over 22,000 employees and currently managing a portfolio of 15 airports and with interests in other airport related activities such as commercial activities, duty free, catering and ground handling at various airports around the world. TAV Airports is publicly listed in the Istanbul stock exchange.

Total Project Cost is estimated at approximately €3.4 billion to be financed by a combination of equity and debt. The proposed investment entails a long-term project finance package consisting of a loan of up to €300 million from IFC’s own account and a B loan of up to €250 million for the account of the participants. This financing will support the Company in refinancing the existing €2.3 billion bridge loan raised for the expansion of AYT.

 The Project is in the city of Antalya in Türkiye.

 This is a Category A project as per IFC's Policy on Environmental and Social Sustainability, as the project
activities have significant adverse E&S risks and/or impacts that are diverse, irreversible, or
unprecedented. The E&S risks of this new loan are the same as those identified for the existing projects (#46443 and #48780) and include the following aspects: (i) FTA’s capacity during operations to manage E&S risks (including the associated facilities); (ii) labor and working conditions, including contractor management and occupational health and safety (OHS); (iii) management of effluents, air emissions, wastes, hazardous materials and air quality control measures; (iv) implementation of the Voluntary Noise Insulation Program (VNIP); (v) completion of the Supplementary Livelihood Implementation Plan (SLIP); (vi) management of increased air and road traffic volume; and (vii) fire safety and emergency preparedness and response.
