Project Description

Founded in 2003, GreenFeed Vietnam Corporation (“GreenFeed” or “the Company”) is primarily an animal and aqua feed producer, with integrated operations across the pork value chain, from feed production, pig breeding and commercial pig farming to pig slaughtering and pork processing. The Company’s operations are mainly in Vietnam, but it also has feed production operations in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. GreenFeed is currently the 5th largest feed producer in Vietnam and is among the largest locally built integrated players. GreenFeed’s strong competitive advantages lie in its integrated operations, which allows the Company to supply traceable and safe pork to consumers and offer comprehensive feed and farm solutions to its farm customers; and also in its world-class pig breeding program, which translates to higher efficiency for its commercial pig farms.

The proposed IFC financing will support the expansion of GreenFeed’s commercial pig farming capacity and some maintenance of GreenFeed’s feed mills in Vietnam (“the Project”).

Associated Advisory Engagement

IFC will support the Company in ramping up sustainable production in line with best market practices with regard to waste treatment and resource efficiency. These will be complemented by a broader planned advisory engagement to advance sector-wide reforms, primarily by advising the government on policy gaps, best practices, and implementation of its “National Plan on Prevention and Combat of African Swine Fever for 2020 to 2025”.
