WDP is a listed Belgian Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) that develops, owns, acquires and manages logistics, warehouses and class A semi-industrial property. It has a portfolio of assets covering, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Romania.

The total Project cost is around €600 million and entails capital expenditures of the Company over the next 2 years. IFC proposed to provide an A Loan of up to US$110 million, an MCPP Loan of up to US$50 million, and a B Loan of up to US$110 million €-equivalent to partially finance this investment plan.

Project assets will be built throughout the country, including Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj, Brazi, Oarja, Sibiu, and Paulesti.

 The proposed investment is expected to have limited environmental and social impacts which will be site-specific with none anticipated to be significant. Further, the impacts can be avoided or mitigated by adhering to recognized performance standards, procedures, guidelines and design criteria as described in the following sections. Thus, this is a Category B project in accordance with IFC’s Policy on Environmental and Social Sustainability.

Key environmental and social issues applicable for this investment are: design and construction of buildings in accordance with national construction codes and standards, particularly related to seismic resistance and life and fire safety; effective implementation of the environmental, occupational health and safety management plans during construction; energy efficiency and other resources consumption during buildings operation.
