Dodla Dairy was incorporated in 1995 and has an average procurement of 1.02 million litres of raw milk per day as of December 31, 2020 with a presence in the southern region of India. The Company’s operations in India are primarily across the five Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. . The Company also has overseas operations in Kenya and Uganda.  It engages in the procurement, production, distribution and marketing of milk and milk products, comprising milk, ghee, curd, butter, paneer (cottage cheese), flavoured milk, ice cream, milk sweets among others.

The Company is promoted by Mr. Sunil Reddy (the “Sponsor”), Mr. Sesha Reddy and the Dodla Family Trust. Mr Sunil Reddy belongs to a reputed family from Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. The family has historically had strong linkages with local farmers. The Sponsor has more than two decades of experience in the industry. The Sponsor, his family and entities associated with the Sponsor have a 68.51% shareholding in the Company

The total project cost is estimated at US$71 million and IFC’s proposed investment is up to INR equivalent of US$15 million investment in the form of an A Loan in the Company.

Update February 2021: IFC invested INR 1,000 million (approximately US$ 15 million) in the form of subscription to equity shares in the Company, out of which INR 500 million is being committed from project #42009, and an approximately equivalent amount out of project #44940.

The Project will be located at Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in India.
