The Company is majority owned by Mr. Mauricio Jose Zacarias Batres, Mr. Juan Alvaro Munguia Alvarez and the Zavala Navarro family.

The proposed IFC investment will consist of an up to $65 million one-year loan facility (the “Facility”) with up to four renewable tranches comprised by: i) an IFC A Loan of up to US$15 million; ii) B Loan of up to US$50 million.

  The Company has administrative offices in Managua and Chinandega and 4 peanut processing plants, in Posoltega, Sempro, Manicasa and Central.   

 This is a category B project according to IFC’s Policy on Environmental and Social Sustainability because a limited number of specific environmental and social impacts may result that can be avoided or mitigated by adhering to generally recognized performance standards, guidelines or design criteria. Specific key environmental and social risks include: (i) operating with a corporate environmental and social management capacity to operate in a manner not consistent with IFC Performance Standards; (ii) inadequate provision  of working conditions and management of occupational health and safety (OHS) risks  for employees and contractors; (iii) lack of protection of supply chain workers (child, forced labor); (iv) risk of natural/critical habitat conversion on the supply chain; (v) inefficient use of energy and water; (vi) inadequate waste and wastewater management; (vii) inadequate management of hazardous waste; (viii) management of security personnel, and (ix) inadequate management of food safety.
