Almarai is listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange since 2005. The current biggest shareholders of Almarai are Savola Group at 36.5 percent and HH Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Kabeer at 23.7 percent. About 36.3 percent of the Company’s shares are freely floated as of March 30, 2017.

The investment program is expected to be financed by IFC, local debt and internal cash generations from the operations in Egypt. The proposed investment is up to $150 million in the form of an A loan for IFC’s own account.

This proposed investment is expected to have limited environmental and social impacts that are anticipated to be few in number and generally site-specific. Highlighted impacts can be avoided or mitigated by adhering to recognized performance standards, procedures, guidelines and design criteria as described in the following sections. Thus, this is a Category B project in accordance with IFC’s Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy. The project is designed to avoid, minimize and manage E&S risks and impacts of the Company’s operations in compliance with Egyptian legal and regulatory requirements, IFC’s Performance Standards (PSs) and applicable World Bank Group (WBG) General and sector-specific Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Guidelines including Dairy Processing, Annual Crop Production and Food and Beverage Processing).
