Acme Solar Energy Private Limited (“ASEPL” or “Acme Solar”) is the Sponsor for this Project. Acme Solar is an independent power producer which builds owns and operates solar power plants in India. Acme Solar’s shareholders as on Sep 15, 2014 are as follows: a) Acme Cleantech Solution Limited (32.16%), MKU Holdings Private Limited (17.84%), EDF Energies Nouvelles (26.00%) and EREN S.A (24.00%).

Acme Cleantech Solutions and MKU Holdings are part of the ACME Group which was founded by Mr. Manoj Upadhyay in 2003. The ACME Group is a leader in the field of energy, environmental and telecommunications infrastructure solutions in India. ACME Group has presence in over 15 countries, 2,000 employees and an installed base of more than 150,000 telecom towers globally. It has many registered patents for energy conservation products and manufacturing capabilities in India.

EDF Energies Nouvelles is a market leader in green electricity production, with a portfolio of 6,611 MW of gross installed capacity focused for the most part on wind (onshore and offshore) and solar photovoltaic energy. Mostly operating in Europe and North America, EDF Energies Nouvelles continues its development in promising emerging areas taking position in new countries (Israel, Morocco, South Africa and India). The Company is also present in other segments of the renewable energy market: marine energy, biogas, biomass and distributed energies. EDF Energies Nouvelles manages renewable energy projects’ development and construction as well as operation and maintenance for its own account and for third parties. EDF Energies Nouvelles is a subsidiary of the EDF Group dedicated to renewable energy.

Eren SA is a holding company, which through its subsidiaries, owns and operates solar and wind farms. The company, through its subsidiaries, designs, manufactures, and owns equipment allowing its customers and partners to rationalize their consumption of energy resources and other natural resources. Eren SA was founded in 2012 by Mr. Pâris Mouratoglou and David Corcha.

The Project Cost is estimated at about INR 8,080 million (approximately US$136 million) equivalent. The proposed IFC investment consists of an IFC ‘A’ Loan of up to INR 2,019 million (approximately US$34 million) and possible syndication of up to INR3,883 million (approximately USD 66 million).

This is a greenfield project located around the village of Bari Seer in the Bap tehsil in the Jodhpur district in the state of Rajasthan.

1. Directly increase power generation to bridge India''s power supply-demand gap 2. Promote climate change mitigation by supporting renewable energy and reducing GHG emissions 3. Generate employment during project implementation and operation

At the project level, IFC can provide a long-tenor, local currency, fixed rate loan to help mitigate interest rate risk and ensure the upholding of best practice environmental and social performance standards.

This is a category “B” project because a limited number of specific environmental and social impacts may result, which can be avoided or mitigated by adhering to generally recognized performance standards, guidelines or design criteria. Potential impacts in construction activities besides being mitigable are likely to be limited to project site; short term; and not expected to impact environmentally sensitive areas. Further, it is possible to readily design and implement engineering and management measures to mitigate adverse impacts during construction and operations. The company will manage its environmental and social performance in accordance with applicable local laws and regulations and international standards, including IFC’s Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability
