Project Description

The proposed project consists of providing up to US$ 10 million of long-term Sustainable Energy Financing (“SEF”) to Lebanese Leasing Company SAL (“LLC” or the “Company”), a leading leasing company in Lebanon, which is a majority owned subsidiary of Fransabank SAL, a systemic bank in Lebanon.

The project aims to build the Company’s leasing portfolio and promote SEF based lending in Lebanon. The facility will be used for financing investments in projects that will result in an increase of energy efficiency or generation of renewable energy in Lebanon. The project includes an Advisory Program designed to help the Company develop a strategy and products to effectively expand the Company’s SEF leasing portfolio.

IFC is considering supporting the project with financing from the Canada Climate Change Program, a donor –funded facility for climate change friendly projects.
