Project Description

The project entails the development of a 12 Mtpa greenfield bauxite mine and associated rail, port and marine infrastructure (the “Project”) at an approximate cost of US$1.4 billion. The Project has proven and probable reserves of 236.8 MT of bauxite with an expected life of mine of 20 years. The Project is being developed by Guinea Alumina Corporation S.A. (“GAC”). GAC holds a fifty-plus year mining concession which also includes the development of an alumina refinery in a second phase of the project.
