Project Description

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group (WBG), together with YCH Group Pte Ltd (YCH) and T&Y Super Port Vinh Phuc Joint Stock Company (“T&Y”)  are collaborating on the development of the Vinh Phuc ICD Logistics Centre (the “Project”) through an upstream Collaboration Agreement. The Project, also known as the Vietnam SuperPort, will be a first of its kind, multi-modal logistics hub integrating dry port and advance supply chain operations that focus on four key pillars: connectivity, sustainability, scalability, and agility.  Located near the capital city of Hanoi, the SuperPort will be a key connecting node for global and regional trade and supply chain between China, Vietnam, ASEAN, and other regional and international markets.

E & S Information

The Environmental and Social (E&S) studies for the Project will be undertaken by YCH and T&Y to meet applicable E&S laws and IFC Performance Standards (“IFC PSs”) such that the Project is designed, constructed, and operated in compliance with IFC PSs and other relevant and applicable E&S requirements. Potential Project E&S risks to be addressed in the E&S studies by YCH, T&Y and their contractors include, as minimum: cumulative and induced impacts; impacts from associated facilities; biodiversity and ecosystem services; land acquisition, economic and physical displacement and livelihood impacts; community health, safety and security; labor working and living conditions and occupational health and safety; cultural heritage; Life & Fire Safety; climate change; emissions to air; energy and water use; solid and hazardous waste management; wastewater management; management of non-routine and accidental events, including emergency preparedness and response; traffic and transportation management; contractors management.
