Project Description

The proposed investment consists of a loan of up to US$ [150.0] million to RANSA Corp S.L. and its Subsidiaries (the “Company”), a third-party logistics company (3PL) based in Peru and operating in the Andean Region and Central America. The proposed IFC loan will finance the company’s expansion in the region, the acquisition of two companies, and the refinancing of RANSA’s existing debt.

RANSA has storage and distribution facilities in Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Its main business lines include storage, logistics, and operation in ports.

Overview of IFC's Scope of Review

IFC’s review of this proposed investment consisted of appraising environmental, health and safety, and social (E&S) information submitted by RANSA, including the company’s E&S policies and procedures, corporate sustainability report, human resources (HR) management procedures, occupational health and safety (OHS) risk management procedures, environmental monitoring reports, emergency response plans, and stakeholder engagement plan. IFC’s review focused on assessing RANSA’s corporate management of E&S risks and its capacity to identify and mitigate those risks across all facilities in alignment with national requirements, the IFC Performance Standards (PS), and the WBG EHS Guidelines. The review of documental information was supplemented by a field appraisal conducted by the IFC team in May 2023, visiting RANSA offices in Lima, Peru, and a sample of sites in Peru and El Salvador.
