Project Description

The proposed project involves project financing of a 24 MWp solar photovoltaic power project on an 82.5 ha barren area in the Ugras village at approximately 35 km from the Phalodi Tehsil village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan state, India. The project will be developed by a joint venture between Astronergy Solar Korea (ASK) and SunEdison Energy Holding (Singapore) Pte Ltd. The solar panels to be installed will convert sunlight to DC (Direct Current) electricity. The DC power will be sent to an Inverter to convert the DC power into AC (Alternate Current) power which will then be fed into the utility power grid. As part of the project, the Company will install an approximately 12 kilometers transmission line (33 kV) to transport the generated electricity to the main grid. The routing of the transmission line, which will be so selected as to remain within the right of way of existing roads, is being finalized. Since the project site is located in an area already accessible to the state highway, there will not be a need to open access roads. The nearest population settlement is approximately 2 km from the project site.
