Project Description
The Euromedic group of companies, a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and hemodialysis services in central, eastern and southern Europe and an existing IFC client is undertaking further expansion. The purpose of this new project is to continue growth of Euromedic’s centers in the region. Euromedic provides a full range of diagnostic services including MRI, CT, Gamma camera, mammography, bone densitometry, and ultrasonography. Hemodialysis is provided as a principal treatment method for patients with end-stage renal disease. Space for each center is typically leased from the associated hospital. Operations are managed typically on a country-by-country basis by locally based managers and medical directors. Most existing centers have obtained to ISO 9001-2000 quality management certification; new centers will achieve certification once operating routinely. Each existing and new center will implement policies and procedures defining patient and employee health and safety requirements and responsibilities as well as addressing management of hazardous health care waste and hazardous materials. Through implementation of this project, Euromedic is extending high quality private healthcare to large, diverse segments of local populations thus improving access to quality medical services. The diagnostic centers are expected to speed the delivery of high quality imaging that will enable faster and more accurate treatment of patients. Euromedic hemodialysis centers have the potential to save the lives of patients who would die within weeks of developing end stage renal disease (ESRD) without access to treatment. In addition, by improving the quality of dialysis care, Euromedic will help to reduce health care costs by reducing the length of hospitalization and shortening the length of annual disability for ESRD patients.
