Project Description
Atilim University is a new private university in Ankara which, upon completion in 2010-2011, will cost an estimated US$76.4 million, and accommodate about 10,500 students in both its undergraduate and graduate programs. Since its founding in July 1997, the sponsors developed facilities to house about 1,100 students in Atilim''s faculties of engineering, arts & sciences, management, and graduate programs. IFC has been requested to finance the completion of the first phase of this project which is expected to cost about US$13.5 million. Upon completion of this first phase, Atilim will increase it''s student capacity by about 1,300 students - from the current 1,100 to 2,400 students. The project will add 15,000 m2 of indoor space dedicated to classrooms and laboratories for the faculties of management and engineering. In addition, this phase will include the construction of a wastewater treatment facility, power generation and distribution facility. If successful, Atilim will request IFC''s assistance to finance the next phase estimated to cost another US$40.7 million.
