Project Description

The overall objective of the project is to support firms to enhance business productivity by addressing gender-based violence and harassment. The project has two main components. 1. Respectful workplaces peer learning series. The project will deliver a Respectful workplaces peer-learning platform (PLP) targeting businesses that commit to address the risks of gender-based violence in their workplaces, supply chains, and communities. Content for these learning events will be developed and customized based on existing IFC respectful workplaces tools and resources that have already been deployed across Asia Pacific (Bangladesh, Fiji, PNG, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, and Viet Nam). The sessions will be adapted to respond to clients’ needs (through need assessment and baseline survey at the beginning) and to ensure alignment with IFC performance standards and other ESG-led work with clients on gender-based violence. 2. Strategic partnerships on Respectful Workplaces. Under this component, the project team aims at establishing at least two partnerships, one at regional level, and one at country level, to scale up the interventions across markets. Mobilizing regional partnerships, through train-the-trainer activities will ensure not only market capacity building on Respectful Workplaces but also opportunity for IFC clients getting technical support that they need beyond the peer learning series but IFC couldn’t offer due to resource constraints.
