Project Description
The project aims to increase investment in Ethiopia’s strategic sectors, trading, logistics, telecom, energy and SEZs, by addressing outstanding investment entry and operational barriers and promoting investment.
Development Results
The project has three different, but interconnected components focused on: 1) Reforming the legal and regulatory environment to attract investment in strategic sectors (trading, logistics, telecom, energy and SEZs); 2) Targeted investment promotion of strategic sectors; and 3) Facilitating institutional coordination for the effective implementation of reforms.

The principles of the relevant Performance Standards have been applied to the project design. Environmental & Social risks will continue to be reviewed throughout the life cycle of the project.
IFCs advice will be provided in a manner consistent with the principles of the relevant Performance Standards. The IFC team will assist the EIC and other public stakeholders as final decision makers, in gaining a good understanding of IFCs performance standards.
