Project Description
The project consists of three components:
Component 1 focuses on assessing Samunnati’s existing lending processes, credit risk assessment mechanisms, and organizational structure, including technology, staffing, and gender strategy. It aims to recommend improvements to better align the financing strategy with the needs of its clients. This component also includes identifying three priority agriculture value chains for activities planned to be carried out in next components. Component 2 involves developing, testing, and integrating agricultural scoring models by evaluating data availability, building crop benchmarks, and establishing processes to incorporate these models into Samunnati’s loan approval system. It also includes identifying potential partnerships with agtechs and off-takers to support CSA financing for Samunnati’s clients. Component 3 focuses on piloting the new financing strategy through staff training, loan product rollout, and ongoing monitoring, with adjustments made as needed to ensure the strategy, value proposition, and products effectively address Samunnati’s needs and are implemented in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
