The Zambia Public-Private Dialogue Forum II (PPDF II) project aims to strengthen institutionalized public-private dialogue as a sustainable mechanism for improving Zambia’s investment climate and supporting private sector-led growth. The project supports structured engagement between Government and the private sector to identify, prioritize, and address key constraints to investment, competitiveness, and economic development. The project seeks to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of the PPDF Secretariat and its Technical Working Groups, enabling more effective coordination of stakeholder engagement, reform implementation, and monitoring of agreed actions. By improving collaboration between the public and private sectors, the project contributes to more transparent, predictable, and evidence-based policy making. The expected development impact includes improved implementation of policy, regulatory, and administrative reforms that promote private investment, strengthen competitiveness, and increase participation of businesses in key sectors of the economy, including mining, energy, and tourism. The project also supports enhanced investor confidence through stronger institutional mechanisms for policy dialogue and reform delivery. In the longer term, PPDF II is expected to contribute to a more conducive business environment, increased private sector investment, job creation, and sustainable economic growth. The project further strengthens Zambia’s capacity to implement future investment climate and competitiveness initiatives by establishing a durable platform for stakeholder engagement, reform coordination, and private sector participation in economic policy development.

Environmental & Social risks will continue to be reviewed throughout the life cycle of the project.
