Project Description
IFC will work with M-Pesa Tanzania, a leading mobile money provider in Tanzania, to pilot an innovative approach to serving farmers/agri-businesses. The project consists of four key components: 1. Field Research to better understand certain value chains, 2. Improvements on M-Pesa's M-Kulima value proposition, 3. Partnership Development, and 4. Pilot testing Digital Lending.
Development Results
IFC will support M-Pesa Tanzania to pilot an innovative approach to serving the Agri-sector, leveraging its M-Kulima platform to reach farmers/agri-businesses and supporting potential partnerships with financial institutions (FIs) to provide financing.
