Project Description
This project will deliver development impact by:
1. Working with organizations to address barriers to women’s employment by addressing firm-level challenges related to hiring and retaining female employees and promoting women into leadership positions. This will be achieved through individual deep-dive gender engagements with companies to identify gender gaps, develop the business case for closing these gaps, propose solutions, and support companies to implement changes and document results to inspire action by others.
2. Working with a group of companies to expand the provision of employer-supported childcare and family-friendly policies and practices in Indonesia. This will be achieved through a peer learning partnership among Indonesian companies committed to making progress in supporting the childcare needs of their workforce.
3. Advancing high-potential women in junior management positions in the manufacturing sector to middle management through a targeted soft skills training program. Additionally, IFC will enhance the capacity of a local training provider to ensure the sustainability of the program for women in the sector.
IFC will also share key results, best practices, and successful models identified through these three components by utilizing innovative communication and dissemination platforms. These resources will demonstrate the business case for gender equality, provide guidance on implementing gender equality strategies, and document lessons learned.
