Project Description

The Project will provide support to clients operating in all industries allowing for a flexible approach so it can adapt to evolving IFC priorities and strategies in terms of new business and portfolio support. ESG services will include: - Conducting ESG diagnostics of a firm’s ESG risk management practices and disclosures against the IFC Performance Standards, environmental, health and safety (EHS) Guidelines, IFC CG Methodology, Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) etc. and developing ESG implementation plans based on the findings. - Conducting ESG diagnostics of a firm’s ESG risk management practices and disclosures against the IFC Performance Standards, environmental, health and safety (EHS) Guidelines, IFC CG Methodology, Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) etc. and developing ESG implementation plans based on the findings. - Conducting workshops and on-going technical support to firms based on diagnostic findings and/or requests from the investment and upstream teams. - Supporting clients to build their capacity so they are equipped to develop and implement ESMS - Conducting CG assessments and developing improvement plans - Providing capacity-building support for boards and senior management teams. - Strengthening the management of climate-related risks through diagnostics on climate governance and the integration of climate risks into Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS). - Guiding clients on developing sustainability and climate-related disclosures including considering the requirements of the ISSB standards. - Supporting clients so that they can develop and implement stakeholder engagement policies and grievance mechanisms for workers and project-affected communities and other IFC PS 2-related issues. - Providing guidance to clients on gender-related matters including diversity, equity and inclusion, women on Boards and in leadership, and gender-based violence and harassment diagnostics and capacity building for inclusive and safe working environments. - Conducting board of director evaluations and capacity-building support to strengthen ESG oversight at firms. - For financial institutions, assisting in incorporating E&S and climate risks in the credit and investment decision-making process as well as portfolio monitoring. - Delivering tailored E&S and CG training based on the client’s needs and issues/challenges identified during the diagnostic phase.
