Project Description
The project focuses on enhancing producer training in animal nutrition and climate-smart practices to improve climate resilience and reduce GHG emissions in Alvoar’s supply chain, particularly in Brazil’s Northeast region. It includes developing an animal nutrition strategy and supporting training farms to demonstrate efficient feed production and water conservation techniques. Training will be delivered through workshops, farm visits, publications, and online sessions, with attention to gender inclusion. A pilot program will test GHG emission reduction tools by establishing baseline emissions and providing tailored recommendations to farmers, aiming to scale successful practices. This project is being implemented in partnership with the Government of Canada through the Facility for Resilient Food Systems (FRFS).
