Project Description
The overall objective of this project is to support the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) to further develop and foster green finance in the country. This will be achieved by creating an enabling environment through introduction of a green finance taxonomy, ESG guidelines, and ongoing capacity building. This will create foundational reforms to deepen green finance in Fiji.
Development Results
The project is anticipated to create building blocks and necessary infrastructure to enable investments in green, sustainable, and/or sustainability-linked financial instruments.

PS 1. Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts
The project will address the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) gaps in the banking sector.
The project will work with the Central Bank to introduce ESG standards and develop relevant guidelines that is consistent with IFC Performance Standards with regards to development of taxonomies, ESG Guidelines and other regulatory contributions.
