Project Description
The project represents the advisory engagement between Nasfund and IFC. IFC supports Nasfund in further developing its ESG practices and framework. The project is delivered in three phases namely, ESG Assessment, Implementation Support (select activities only) and ESG training.
Development Results
The project aims to improve ESG practices/performance to reduce ESG bottlenecks and facilitate private sector investments. This will be carried out by providing direct advisory support to a pension fund to improve its ESG practices in PNG.

PS 1. Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts
As part of its Due Diligence process, and as mandated by IFCs Sustainability Policy, IFC team is screening this project to assess consistency with the IFC Performance Standards. Environmental and social risks will be further reviewed throughout the lifecycle of the project.
IFC's advice will be provided in a manner consistent with the relevant Performance Standards. The IFC team will assist the client in gaining a good understanding of IFCs Performance Standards, and provide recommendations for appropriate mitigation measures whenever warranted.
