Project Description
The IDR project intends to strengthen the insolvency framework in the WBC by improving regulations and institutional capacities and restructuring mechanisms in line with EU standards and reporting.
Development Results
The project aims to strengthen the insolvency and restructuring framework and to promote the development of distressed asset markets in the WBCs by removing impediments to NPL transferability in at least two Western Balkan Countries by aligning legal frameworks. These two objectives will be achieved by aligning legal and regulatory frameworks in WBCs with EU standards, building institutional capacities and enhancing data collection, reporting, and monitoring related to insolvency proceedings.

PS 1. Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts
As part of its Due Diligence process, and as mandated by IFCs Sustainability Policy, IFC team is screening this project to assess consistency with the IFC Performance Standards. Environmental and social risks will be further reviewed throughout the lifecycle of the project.
IFC's advice will be provided in a manner consistent with the relevant Performance Standards. The IFC team will assist the client in gaining a good understanding of IFCs Performance Standards, and provide recommendations for appropriate mitigation measures whenever warranted.
