Project Description
The project comprises two primary components:
1. Wongpanit Waste Picker Supply Chain Diagnostic and Gender Assessment (Thailand):
• Conducting a high-level socio-economic supply chain diagnostic in Bangkok and surrounding areas to increase reliability of feedstock and identify capacity-building opportunities.
• Undertaking a gender assessment to understand gender gaps and potential interventions to close these gaps, aiming to increase women's participation in the workforce and management.
2. Vietcycle Hanoi Supply Chain Analysis and Gender Assessment (Vietnam):
• Implementing a diagnostic of Vietcycle’s waste picker supply chain, focusing on expanding the network of collection points and improving the socio-economic conditions of waste pickers.
• Performing a gender assessment to create a baseline for gender equality within the supply chain and develop strategies for addressing gender-based issues.
Both components aim to enhance plastic recycling efficiency and address key challenges in the recycling sector in emerging Asian economies, thereby contributing to global environmental sustainability and social development.
