Project Description

The advisory project will support the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Communal Services (MCHCS) and other national stakeholders in creating green building ecosystem in the local market via cross-sectoral approach. The advisory will focus on introducing incentives for both local and international green building certifications, build the professional capacity in the local market across the public, private and financial sectors. The project entails the following two components with their related activities: Component 1: Introducing a policy framework for Green Buildings: The project will work with stakeholders to ensure local recognition of international voluntary green building certification, develop adequate green building incentives, and establish a relevant policy framework. The activities under this component include: Raising awareness among national stakeholders, develop green building incentive scheme, provide technical assistance on putting green building policy framework into place, enabling local recognition of international certification system. Component 2: Capacity and Knowledge Building for Green Building: The project will ensure that there are market-ready green building professionals to lead the sector growth and implement such projects locally. This component will aim to raise awareness about green building among different construction sector stakeholders that would include developers, professionals, architects and financial institutions. This component will focus on collaborating with different stakeholders to support capacity building and awareness raising.
