Project Description
IFC will draw from its global expertise in risk management to implement the project. The project will work with the client to guide and co-implement measures to strengthen five main areas: 1) Risk appetite framework and ICAAP, 2) Data governance, 3) Risk-based classification and process integration, 4) ALM tools and metrics, and 5) Risk-based Internal audit.
Development Results
The objective of this project is to support BANHCAFE to align with the risk-based supervision regulatory approach in Honduras by assisting with the development of policies, tools, and metrics. The project will achieve its objective by building in-depth capacity and sharing best practices to strengthen the risk management approach of the client.

PS 1. Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts
As per IFC's Sustainability Policy, the team has assessed the project's consistency with IFC Performance Standards using principles of Performance Standard 1 and no significant environmental and social risks associated to project impact have been identified. The project aims to support Banhcafe in its effort to align and comply with risk-based regulatory measures in Honduras. This effort poses no additional E&S risks to the clients or end users. The project is therefore being rated as a low E&S risk project.
No mitigation measures are required at the stage given the project's low E&S risk classification.
