Project Description
The project will focus on digital/tech startups, as technology is one of the main drivers of productivity and economic growth, and technology enabled startups represent an attractive investment for early-stage investors. The project will include the following two components.
Component 1 - Supporting the Entrepreneurship Enabling Environment:
The objective of this component is to partner with MoEE to advise on the creation of a conducive legal and regulatory environment to promote entrepreneurship and facilitate the establishment and growth of startups in Palestine.
Component 2 - Building the Capacity of the Entrepreneurship Support Organizations (ESO; namely accelerators and incubators)
The objective of this component is therefore to strengthen existing ESO’s operational capacity and connectedness, which would translate into enhanced services and support to entrepreneurs. This will be achieved through the design and implementation of a targeted capacity development program for local ESOs to improve the quality of their services and effectiveness of delivery.
Key focus areas of capacity building program: investment readiness services, mentorship and linkages services, and women entrepreneurs services.
