Project Description
The Victoria Falls Tourism Destination Development Program is an IFC Technical Assistance Program to enhance the resilience of Victoria Falls as a tourism destination and lay the groundwork for Victoria Falls to become the engine driving future tourism growth, dispersion and revenue for new markets in Zimbabwe. The Program provides technical support for conceptualization of Victoria Falls as a destination, for policy and regulatory reform of the tourism sector, for planning for and oversight of the Tourism sector, for various destination diversity and marketing initiatives, as well as active support for the development of air access routes into Victoria Falls and Zimbabwe. IFC’s counterparts are the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Change, Tourism and Hospitality Industry and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development. The Program will ensure the active engagement of and consultation with both public and private stakeholders in order to produce desired outcomes and impact.
